Members Only Open Call: CAHOOTS Publication
The Members of Engage Art Studios, Sample Studios and A4 Sounds, are invited to contribute to a CAHOOTS publication under the theme 'Language and Landscape'.
Selected artists will be given a double spread in the published artwork which will be sized A5 and Portrait.
Artists are invited to submit work for consideration which may include:
a. An Image
b. A piece of text: Anything the artist deems appropriate ( i.e statement, poem, prose, journal entry etc)
c. A combination of the above
Images limited to 1 and should be print ready: (300DPI JPG/PNG File)
Text Limited to max 500 words
Please also include a short bio. Max 200 words.
Deadline for Submissions: Sunday 7th March at 23:59

Arts Council Agility Fund, Members Clinic

An open session for members to review the guidelines of The Arts Council's new Agility Fund and discuss your proposals, supported by Artistic Director, Aoibhie McCarthy on Wednesday, March 16th, 1-2pm.

Making Your Own Digital Exhibition: Lunchtime Workshop
Wednesday, March 24th, 1-2pm
A practical 'how to' demonstration of how to develop your own virtual exhibtion using Artsteps, a free virtual exhibition platform. Join Sample-Studios Programme Coordinator, Sinéad Barrett, for a practical tour of 'Cahoots: The Space Between' current digital exhibition and a demonstration of how to use Artsteps to create your own free and accessible virtual exhibition space, place your works, create introductory text, add audio and film.

Members of Sample-Studios, A4 Sounds and Engage Art Studios gather fortnightly for group crits which enable a member from each studio to SHOW their WORK so that they can receive constructive feedback and insights from their peers and GROW their practice!

Artist in the Community Scheme Funding Information Session and Artist Talk:
Thursday, January 21st, 2-4pm

We are hosting a zoom information session about the Artist in Community Scheme and the bursaries and awards you can apply for. This session will be with Áine Crowley who coordinates the Artist in the Community Scheme. Aine provides project and proposal advice and support, information and guidance to those interested in applying for the awards. This information session is for those working in a collaborative and socially engaged way or those interested in learning more about this way of working. Áine will be joined by artist Ruairí Ó Donnabháin, who was funded for the project Archipelagic Thinking with the community of artist in the community scheme Oileán Chléire.
Artist in the Community (AIC) Scheme
The Arts Council’s Artist in the Community (AIC) Scheme, managed by Create, offers awards to enable artists and communities of place and/or interest to work together on projects.The AIC Scheme also offers an annual bursary, as well as residencies and a summer school. The aim of the AIC scheme is to encourage meaningful collaboration between communities of place and/or interest and artists.
'Writing Applications' with Maeve Mulrennan:
Thursday, January 14th, 5.30 - 7.30pm

This free workshop for members only will address the application writing process for visual artists, designers and makers.
Maeve Mulrennan is Assistant Arts Officer, Cork County Council. She is formerly the Venue Co-ordinator for Dublin City Council Culture Company in Richmond Barracks and a Creative Associate with Creative Schools. She was the Head of Visual Art in Galway Arts Centre from 2006 - 2020. Maeve is a board member for Galway Community Circus and was previously on the Board of Directors for TULCA Festival of Visual Art. She has An MA Vis Arts from IADT Dun Laoghaire, h.Dip Arts Administration from NUI Galway, BA hons. in Fine Art (Painting) from Limerick School of Art and Design and a BA hons in English Literature, Sociology & Politics from NUI Galway.
