about the art
I take inspiration from my daily meanderings through life paying special attention to the magical world that is nature itself where often times memory is triggered and a seed of creativity is planted. Paying special attention to detail is paramount to my practice. Found objects and recyclables, particularly mixed media and textiles are my main mediums of choice
3D assemblage work interests me greatly. Whimsy and the magic of memory is evident in my work, as is vivacious colour In our current 'throwaway society’ I aim to, where possible to reuse and/or repurpose items that have been discarded by those that have gone before us. Through my photographic work I am forever mindful of the ‘decisive moment’, I aim to convey a sense of the beauty and intrigue that can be captured even in the mundane. To try, as it were, to capture the ordinary and present it as extraordinary. |
