Helen Roseanne Lynch
Helen Roseanne Lynch is an artist based in Cork City, Ireland. She graduated with an Honours degree in Fine Art from the Crawford College of Art and Design in 2011.
Helen was awarded the CIT Purchase prize and the Ciaran Langford Memorial Bursary in 2011 for large scale self-portrait photography done as part of her final year show. During this time, she completed a six-month residency with the Backwater Artists Group based on Wandesford Quay Cork.
Since graduating Helen has been pursuing various creative projects including Humans Of Cork (The Facebook photography page with a current following of over 18,000 people.) She has collaborated with GobStar Productions on the making of a music video for Hope Is Noise in 2015. She also set up the page, Cork Creatives, an online forum that links creatives from all backgrounds.
At present Helen splits her creative practice between personal work in the studio and as Volunteer Coordinator for the IndieCork film festival. Helen also works with the RHA as a life model and regularly makes trips to Dublin to facilitate life drawing classes.
She is currently working on a series of abstract works examining personal identity and displacement. Working at Sample-Studios has been instrumental in allowing her the space, peer support and environment to allow for this creative exploration.
