Gary MacShane is a photorealism artist primarily using pencil and charcoal techniques in his work.
People have always fascinated me. I have always enjoyed listening to someone tell a story or when a face can tell the story without a single word. So the past few years I have been working on a series, which is a very personal and very important series to me. I have been focusing on people who have made big significant changes to my life big or small. When I was growing up at the tail end of the troubles in Northern Ireland, in a town where you don’t really know your neighbour. I have always used these experiences to an extent through my Art.
